Who it is for.
A trader, offtaker, financier or insurer holding one live DRC copper or cobalt position, where money, title or cover is about to move against a file assembled by someone else. Also mining lawyers and diligence teams who need the ground layer behind the paper they are reviewing.
When to buy it.
Before prepayment. Before taking title. Before binding cover. Before a document set is relied on in a dispute. The check is worth least the day after the money moves.
What it checks.
One position, four layers. The documents against each other. The issuers and the counterparty: licences, registry standing, mandate to sell. The export window, including the DRC cobalt quota regime. The corridor and the ground against the paper. Findings graded Green, Amber, Red or Black. A Black finding stops the review and is reported at once.
What is delivered.
A written verdict: Holds, Holds subject to named points, or Does not hold. Named points listed with the evidence behind each. An evidence matrix showing what was checked, how, and what was found. A walkthrough call included. The verdict states what would change it.
Fee.
£4,000, fixed. Paid before work starts. No success fees, ever.
Timeline.
Five working days from the later of cleared payment and complete documents. If the cargo is already moving, say so in the first message.
What is excluded.
Legal opinions. Valuation and price opinion. Assay, sampling or cargo inspection. Sanctions legal advice. Brokerage or introductions. Anything requiring field travel, which is scoped separately as a Ground Check. Files in which the desk has any conflict, which are declined with the reason stated.
Questions buyers ask.
Who sees my file? The founder, and no one else without written agreement. Client identity and findings are confidential, and the desk holds no interest in any cargo or counterparty it checks.
What if my documents are incomplete? The document list names what is missing on day one. The five-day clock starts when payment has cleared and the file is complete.
What happens if the verdict is Does not hold? You receive the named points and the evidence behind them, in writing, with the walkthrough call. An adverse verdict is the product working.
Can you look at a counterparty before there are documents? Yes, as a Decision Note. The Shipment File Check needs a file. The Decision Note needs a decision.
